Friendship Baptist Summer Sports Camp is BACK!
We are excited to return this year to sharpen our sports skills, and also learn another lesson from God’s playbook, the Bible! Join us for camp from July 25th-29th from 6-8:15pm.
All skill levels are accepted. There will be four different sports offered each day: BASKETBALL, BASEBALL, SOCCER, and CHEERLEADING. You choose your sport, and you will be coached in that sport all week. Campers will learn from skilled local coaches and college athletes and will also be exposed to other positive role models in an affirming environment. Each day will include and build upon the fundamentals of each sport.
More details on coaches, our daily schedule, and end of camp celebrations to come.

Meet Your Coaches for Sports Camp 2021
Cheer: Christina Kinne
“I have loved Cheerleading since I was an awkward middle schooler. Picked on by my peers for my height and acne, cheerleading really helped me raise my self-confidence, obtain a strong body and mind, and develop life-long friendships.” Christina had the privilege of being a Cheerleading Coach off and on for over 20 years. She has coached all youth levels: Recreational, Middle and High School, and Competition Co-Ed Squads. “My greatest accomplishments were placing 5th in the Nation in ECA’s National Competition with a Co-Ed JV High School Squad and Youth All Star Squad.” Christina completed the Virginia High School League Spirit Exam which allowed her to be a Technical and Safety Judge for any Virginia High School Cheerleading Competition. She has also completed the UCA Advisor Program which is a course in cheerleading safety. “I love cheerleading, but when God gave me my third son I felt like it was time to hang up my pom-poms. I am blessed that Friendship Baptist has provided me with the opportunity to “Shout It Out” once again and lead the Cheerleading Program at Sports Camp.”
Basketball: Jay Horner
Jay Horner loves the Lord, loves children, and is passionate about Basketball. After a life of playing and coaching (boys and girls of all ages), he is sure to pass on some of his “know-how” to our Sports Campers. Jay recognizes that the teamwork, skills, discipline, and fun of basketball will help the Campers learn valuable life skills.
Baseball: Chris Kenyon
Chris Kenyon played baseball for 15+ years which includes playing at the college level and going to the JUCO World Series in 1991. Additionally, Chris was an Academic All-American while playing ball. He moved from the mid-west to Chesterfield in 2004. He was the lead pitching instructor at RISE Baseball for ten years during which time he instructed hundreds of kids from all age groups and skill levels. Many of those players went on to play at the college level with a few being drafted into professional baseball. Chris also coached multiple championship caliber travel and little league teams. He focuses on the core fundamentals of the game and specializes on proper throwing mechanics to ensure players maintain healthy arms during their careers.
